Here you’ll find the instructions on how to use our plugin “Flat Rate per State/Country/Region for WooCommerce” in a multilingual website using WPML.
If you are using this plugin on a website where WPML is not used, you can ignore these instructions.
The strings that can/should be translated are:
- The method title
- Each region, country or state rule
WPML
To get started, you will need WPML and add-on Plugins i.e. the core WPML Multilingual CMS which is always required and the String translations add-on.
Guide for installing & activating WPML is available on the WPML getting started guide.
A demo of Flat Rate per State/Country/Region for WooCommerce running under WPML:
Default english: http://theme-testing.wpml.org/plugin-flatrateperstatecountryregionforwoocommerce/
Spanish: http://theme-testing.wpml.org/plugin-flatrateperstatecountryregionforwoocommerce/?lang=es
After having installed WPML, if our plugin was already installed and configured, the strings are not yet registered.
How to translate the strings?
After saving the settings on the plugin configuration page, and if WPML is installed, you’ll see a notice message on the top:
You should now click on the link inside that notice and you’ll be redirected to the WPML String Translation page with our strings already filtered out for you.
Now you just have to click no “translations” on each string, make the translation itself, check “Translation is complete” and “Save”.
Your strings will now be shown to your clients, on the WooCommerce checkout page, using the correct language.
If you change the plugin configurations, you should re-check your translations and adjust them accordingly if necessary.
